Joy Witzel approaches all aspects of her work with great enthusiasm, compassion, and dedication to state of the art quality of care. Before joining our team at the Central Care Cancer Center in 2013, Joy graduated from a CAMPEP approved graduate program in Medical Physics at the University Health Science Center in San Antonio in 2008. She then continued her clinical training as a CyberKnife Physicist, specializing in image guided SRS/SBRT treatment planning and quality assurance procedures. Afterwards she was accepted into a fellowship program with the Arizona Breast Cancer Specialists in 2011, becoming well versed in HDR Nucletron and Varian 21iX Clinac systems, as well as maintaining and improving treatment planning (Oncentra and Eclipse) design and quality control processes. Joy is a member of AAPM, HPS, Golden Key National Honors Society, and the Honors Society of the SPS. Her favorite pastimes are hiking, enjoying the great outdoors, adventuring, and spending time with her family. Joy’s greatest reward is in knowing that she contributes to and helps improve the quality of care for all mankind.
